Most Goodwills in Ohio provide the following services:

Assessment:
Goodwill works with individuals to determine job interests and vocationally-relevant skills. Based on abilities, Goodwill staff may recommend job training, placement services or case management to assist individuals served to be successful in their chosen occupation.

Skills Training:
Goodwill offers many skill training courses to assist individuals to attain the occupation specific tools needed for successful employment. Skills Training courses that are available through Ohio Goodwills include everything from janitorial to certified nursing assistant to computer programming.

Placement:
Through years of placement experience in counties throughout Ohio, Goodwill has developed relationships with many leading employers, ensuring successful job placements for thousands of individuals in a variety of occupations.

Retention & Support:
Goodwill works with individuals after they have found employment to ensure that people have the support they need -- from case management to job coaching to skills training -- to succeed and progress in their jobs.

Case Management:
Individuals work with Goodwill employees to locate the specific services they need to help them to overcome any barriers to employment. The goal of case management is to allow individuals to focus their attention and energy on the attainment of vocational success.

Transportation:
Since many individuals may face the barrier of reliable transportation in their pursuit of employment, Goodwill assists in providing transportation services either to the Goodwill facility or, as appropriate, to community employers.
Education:
Goodwill is proud to provide individuals with a variety of key educational services including general equivalency degrees, English as a second language and adult literacy classes.

Work Experience:
Goodwill provides valuable hands-on work experience opportunities through its network of retail stores as well as through its facility and community-based work opportunities. Skills such as work stamina, attention to task, getting along with co-workers and supervisors and increased work earnings are all part of the work experience.

Job Readiness:
Goodwill helps individuals quickly hone the skills they need -- from communications to financial management to writing a resumé -- to enter the workforce.
